Khanapara Teer is a traditional archery game played in Meghalaya, India. Participants bet on the number of arrows that hit a target. The word “Teer” means arrow in Hindi. Players choose numbers between 0 and 99, and the winning numbers are based on the number of arrows hitting the target.

This popular form of gambling has roots in Meghalaya but has also gained popularity beyond the region. The game is organized by Them Marwet, a group of 12 archery clubs from a specific area near East Khanapara in the Ri Bhoi district of Meghalaya.

Each round of the game involves 50 archers shooting between 300 and 1,000 arrows, with the total number of arrows hitting the target determining the result. For instance, if 650 arrows hit the target, the score would be 50, using the last two digits.
